Alvanley Parish Council
Alvanley Parish Council is made up of 5 elected councillors, who are the parish representatives. The Parish council employs a Clerk/ Responsible Finance Officer to manage the daily running of the Parish Council, this is a legal requirement.

I have been a member of Alvanley Parish Council since July 2023. I have lived in Alvanley since 1982 with my husband Bob. We have two grown up daughters who attended the local schools.
I have worked in industry, commerce, education, retail and local government. My last position was Helsby Parish Clerk where I worked from 2002 – 2020. During my time there, I undertook training and passed the AQA in Local Council Administration.
My aim for Alvanley is to ensure that it continues to thrive and keep pace with the challenges of everyday life. To conduct council business in an open transparent manner and to be accessible to the residents of Alvanley.

I have lived in the area for more than 30 years and bring extensive experience in establishing and managing multi‑functional organisations. My background includes detailed knowledge of financial systems, funding streams, health and safety, and both business and strategic planning. I currently run my own consultancy business across the Northwest, and these skills have proven invaluable in my work as an Alvanley Parish Councillor.
I am committed to improving the community we live in and to ensuring that Alvanley makes the most of the resources available to it. I am passionate about working collaboratively with residents, local authorities and funding bodies to secure the best outcomes for our parish

My name is Heather Lodge I have lived in Alvanley since 2003 and brought up my two boys here and would like to see the village continue to develop. I am an Occupational Therapist who now manages a Clinical Case Management company based locally but working throughout the Northwest.
I am used to working with teams and towards collective goals encouraging others to get involved.

My name is Alison Mahoney and I made the wise decision to move to Alvanley in 2001.
My background is Human Resources Management and Consultancy. I also have many years of experience managing Training and Development, Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Facilities teams within the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI).
I joined the Parish Council with the aim of giving something back to this lovely village and to encourage its residents to work together to ensure that Alvanley continues to thrive and is celebrated.

My name is John Wright. I was brought up in the area and returned to live in Alvanley 2 years ago.
I have a keen interest in the environment where I live and feel I could make a positive impact as a Parish Councillor.

I moved from Helsby to Alvanley in 1963 and shortly afterwards was appointed Clerk to Alvanley Parish Council. In May 1976 I was elected a Parish Councillor for Alvanley at the local elections.
In 1977 I was appointed an Alvanley School Governor for our Primary school – a position I still hold. I also liaise with the Parochial Church Council for matters
regarding the churchyard. I have now retired and volunteer for village projects e.g. The Alvanley Village Design Statement which is now a registered document and other schemes to protect, enhance and improve our village for future generations.
