New Dog Fouling Signs Installed Across Alvanley Footpaths
Published: September 23, 2026
Dave Gilbert, Vice Chair of Alvanley Parish Council, has been out walking the village footpaths with his dog, Esme, to install a series of new dog fouling reminder signs across Alvanley.
The signs have been positioned at key locations along the footpath network to encourage responsible dog ownership and help keep the village’s beautiful countryside and walking routes clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Dog fouling continues to be a concern for many residents, and the Parish Council hopes that the new signs will serve as a visible reminder to dog owners to pick up after their pets and dispose of waste responsibly.
Dave Gilbert said:
“Alvanley is fortunate to have a fantastic network of public footpaths that are enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. By installing these signs, we hope to encourage everyone to do their part in keeping our footpaths clean and pleasant for all users. There are dog poo bins at strategic points and we are encouraging people to use them
The Parish Council would also like to thank local resident Bob Hughes, who has kindly volunteered to assist with the installation of the remaining signs along Footpath 5.
Jeanette Hughes, Chair of Alvanley Parish Council, added:
“We are grateful to Bob for offering his support and to Dave for giving up his time to install the signs. Small community projects such as this can make a big difference in helping to maintain the quality of our village environment.”
Alvanley Parish Council hopes that the new signage will help reduce instances of dog fouling and ensure that the village’s footpaths remain welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
