Commonside Tip
Following the recent documentary, Alvanley Parish Council is aware of residents’ ongoing concerns regarding the tip site at Commonside.
The Parish Council has no direct responsibility for the site. Matters relating to environmental regulation, investigation and any remediation work fall within the remit of the relevant statutory authorities.

The Parish Council will continue to monitor developments, represent the concerns of residents where appropriate, and share relevant updates when they become available from the responsible authorities.

Alvanley Parish Council welcomes CWAC’s commitment to publish monitoring data and acknowledges confirmation that contaminants have been found to be migrating from the landfill site. However, significant uncertainty remains regarding the investigation timetable, the scope and frequency of environmental monitoring, and the criteria that will be used to determine whether the site meets the statutory definition of contaminated land. The Parish Council will continue to seek transparency and regular engagement as the investigation progresses.
